“You Saved My Life” is as heart-breaking as any tragic love song ever written. It swing along in a “Waltz-ish”-tempo, coated with beautiful synths playing in the background. The song is bursting with longing and melancholic beauty, but without getting too sentimental. The video is very simple, filmed in slow motion which most certainly enhances the mood of the song and reinforces the feeling of loneliness. It’s McCombs most beautiful song to date and highly worth reliving.
