Lowlakes – Song for Motion

Anyone who, like me, enjoyed last year’s falsetto-heavy Holiday by Port St. Willow or The Antler’s Undersea, will find this song right up their alley. With “Song for Motion”, you’ll find the Australian band, Lowlakes exploring some beautiful piano-driven melodies that together with singer Tom Snowdon’s Antony Hegarty-like voice, deserves an audience. Song for Motion’s lack of novelty is compensated by a sophisticated and attention-grabbing atmosphere. It’s mournful and longing in its presence, with Snowdon singing “I’ll keep waiting, it’s been so long…”, building-up to a beautiful crescendo.
