PVT, formally known as Pivot, is about to release their fourth album titled Homosapien (second after they dropped the vowels in their name). As an initiative from the band, most of the tracks can already be found scattered across the net for fans to hear in advance (Se when and where below). With its lush melancholic strings, dispersed percussions and a techno inspired ambiance, “Vertigo” is the clear stand-out
(of what I’ve heard so far). This is the closest they ever gotten to produce an R&B ballad and thus very far from the Vangelis/soundtrack/synthesizer-inspired post-rock they’re normally associated with.
I can’t really explain why but this song has a haunting power over me that I can’t seem to shake off. The more I listen to it, the more I’m drawn into it, leaving me in a bittersweet and sentimental mood. Stream it below and check out where you can stream the rest of the tracks from the album. Homosapien is out on February the 8th.
