Even though we like to write about pretty much everything that suits our taste, there’s nothing more pleasing than presenting a new band with an apparent bright future ahead. “I’m To Blame” is an impressive debut from a band that formed less than a year ago; and apparently the LA trio’s struck gold on their first attempt. The fragile beauty of “I’m To Blame” is expressed through its soft whispering vocals and restrained approach to melody and texture. With merely a vintage organ, a drum machine and a lonesome guitar, “I’m To Blame” is what you would get if Beach House resided to a breezy ocean-view cabin and embraced the warm climate of the Californian shores.
The band recently signed to Stone Throw Records (home of Madvillain and formerly J Dilla) and is currently working on their debut album, planned for release later this year.
