More than any statement of novelty, “Actors” is an artistic creation seeking to contrast the stress of everyday life and shift focus to a serene inner state of mind. Whatever their intention, Still Parade manage to uphold an beguiling mysticism surrounding their persona, not as a deliberate marketing stunt, but rather an assertion of letting the music speak for itself. It takes away all the focus from unnecessary bio description and band origin and diverts our attention to the music itself.
If you think Still Parade reminds you of Bon Iver or any given artist owing to Justin Vernon’s lush folk, than you’re right of course. Once again we could use every possibly parable word to “dreamy” to describe the nature romantic beauty of “Actors”, but we much rather want you to listen (or maybe the warm summery weather has made us more lazy than usual).
