Aside from The Juan Maclean’s brilliant ”Feel Like Movin”, there hasn’t been too many dancefloor bangers to be overly excited about this fall. However, UK’s Kayper a.k.a Kaajal Bakrania is the major exception. Following the more laidback grooves of “Magic Faces”, the Croydon producer return with a brilliant number that share some common ground with the likes of Classixx and Disclosure, at least in the way it resurrects the house music of yesteryears into something somberly fresh ad streamlined. “Out My Mind” carries a classic saw-ish bass line with pounding drums and chopped-up vocals. This is as good as dance music gets at the moment, – with a big chunk of crossover potential.
“Out My Mind” is out December 19.
