Protomartyr – Come & See

Comprised of stories about the perils of their hometown Detroit, Protomartyr released a severely underrated debut album last year. On April 8 they are set to follow it up with Under Color of Official Right, via Hardly Art. First taste, “Scum, Rise!” was perhaps their darkest, most crushing song to date  and revealed an interesting juxtapose between chaos and harmony. Protomartyr bring their stories to the forefront with an alarming sense of urgency – like Springsteen meeting The Clash – and new single, “Come & See” is another reason why their punchy, melodious post-punk shouldn’t be taken lightly. Few bands have this much to say in four short minutes, and few bands can jump between verses, bridges and refrains with this much ease.
